Kambo, A Medicine To Detox The Body

THE KAMBO,  A TRADITIONAL  REMEDY FOR PHYSICAL DETOX

The Kambo is an ancient practice for detoxifying the physical body, it is used for Amazonian tribes where they catch the Bufo or Frog  Phyllomedusa bicolor, and from it is back the collect the medicine, this medicine is collected on a bamboo stick and left to dry for storage. This is a medicine that operates in the physiology of the organism or body, and also in the realm that is beyond matter, that is, the soul.

The kambó is considered an entity or a spirit that is responsible for the healing process. The frog is treated with respect and is never harmed because, according to Amazonian beliefs, harming it would anger the spirit animal and therefore produce no cure. After extraction, the frog is released back into the forest.

The ceremony of Kambo takes around 1 hour where the Facilitator that needs to be an experienced person Will inflict a superficial wound on the individual’s skin with a burned stick (traditionally known as titica) and placing the rehydrated secretion on the burn, which appears as a spot the size of a green pea on the skin. It is usually applied to the arms or chest for men or, for women, to the legs. The effect of the substance depends on the number of points, usually, you receive 3 points.

The Kambo will be absorbed subcutaneously and enter the circulatory system. Within a few minutes, an acute physiological response manifests itself, usually characterized by an increased heart rate, sweating, dizziness, and sometimes nausea and vomiting. This is what we call the detox, where the Kambo Will cleans all your organs, blood and help you in case you have any pain, illness, etc, etc. After the effects wear off,  the kambó medicine is said to leave the individual with a feeling of increased strength, sensory awareness, and mental clarity. The peptides present in kambó do not produce any psychoactive effect.
